                  A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE AWARD OF CONTRACT
                  NO. M-1-97, BITUMINOUS PAVEMENT MILLING, TO
                  C.W. MATTHEWS CONTRACTING COMPANY, INC., FOR
                  THEIR LOW BID IN THE AMOUNT OF FORTY-NINE
                  THOUSAND, EIGHT HUNDRED DOLLARS ($49,800.00).
                 
                 
                                                    
                 
                 
       	    	 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
       CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE, that there be and is hereby authorized 
the
       award of Contract No. M-1-97, Bituminous Pavement Milling, to 
C.W.
       Matthews Contracting Company, Inc., for their low bid in the
       amount of $49,800.00.
